The Motorcycle Mystery From Vancity Allie
Because we got there so late, we missed all of Rob’s scenes. This is how his scenes were filmed, and how they are going to incorporate more of him into the movie than the book: In this scene in the movie, Bella leaves the theatre with Jessica (the first time she goes to the theatre, not the second time when she goes with Mike and Jacob)… and encounters the same gang that she did in the first movie. And they’ve got motorcycles. She decides to go on a joyride with one of the gang members to try to upset Edward into appearing in her head again. Only in this particular movie scene, they actually filmed Rob Pattinson standing right beside Kristen Stewart telling her not to go, with Kristen standing and talking to the gang member beside his bike. (I’m sure they’ll make him an apparition in post-production editing)
So that’s my best guess at the Bella motorcycle mystery based on what I saw on set. This scene is not like New Moon… in the book, her and Jessica see the gang members sitting in a pub through the window. There was never any motorcycle scenes. The ones ones in the book are with Taylor Lautner on dirtbikes and he wasn’t there. (He was filming the scenes where he jumped from Bella’s window at the Swan house set tonight) What do you think? Why is Kristen on a motorcycle when it’s not in the books?

I LOVE the idea! I never really cared for it in the book, I always wanted more to happen then her just walk towards them! This seems pretty awesome of an idea!

I don’t think it is a good idea, because in part of Stephenie Meyers ‘Midnight Sun’ she tells us that Carlisle knocks the rapest/murderer from Port Angeles. out and drags him to a police station. So they can’t have the same ‘gang’ from the Twilight movie!

This isn’t accurate. The book she says its not the same men from the night she was almost attacked in Port Angeles, and they are standing outside the bar, she doesn’t see them through the window. And not once in the book was Jacob/Taylor with a gang of guys on dirt bikes. And I don’t remember them even being called a gang.

but at the end you can hear her say dont stop!
but the website says she said stop stop! but i think she would say dont stop because of the hallucination or thats the first time the hallucination happened and she’s confuesed and she thinks edwrds there so she says stop stop!

by the way i thought Chris Weltz looked like a rat in the pics but in the ET videos.. *swoon* he should be in the movies.

i thought they were keeping very close to the book. im okay with little things here and there, but to fit this scene in, they have to take out things that were in the book to make room for things that weren’t. thats not cool

I just don’t get their need to change the book to this extent. Bella would NOT go on the bike…I mean that’s just steering too far from the book. So many things unnecessarily added yet so many critical parts they feel free to ignore. I sometimes wonder why Stephanie allows such dramatic changes without voicing her opinion more. Sometimes I think they should run it by a group of fans and they’d know what they should and shouldn’t do…..

i dont understand why people are getting so upset over this…
it will add more action to the part to make it more interesting.
for the most part, chris has stuck extremely close to the book.
i admire his work so far and have fairh in him to make new moon the best it can be. if that means changing a few minor details, then so be it.
so lets all stop hating on chris for making a tweak to the scene. movie adaptations are never exactly the same as the stories, we should all know this from hardwicke.
you guys should be grateful to have such a knowledgeable and well-known director this time.
its not fair to judge him.
