Melissa Rosenberg Reveals Victoria Scene In New Moon
Melissa Rosenberg spoke to MTV about a cool scene involving Victoria in New Moon.
“There is something I just love with Victoria,” Rosenberg told us at Comic-Con, discussing her script for November’s “New Moon.” “It’s very fun to write the evil vampires — or it was fun to write James.”
With Cam Gigandet’s ruthless tracker gone for the sequel, Rosenberg instead found herself sinking her screenwriting teeth into Lefevre’s vengeance-minded vamp. “In the book, that was about Bella’s point of view,” she explained, admitting that keeping the events of the “Twilight” films to what Kristen Stewart’s character can see is a difficult task. “You can’t violate that to see what Victoria is up to.”

ok i was upset about the switch but was nuetral at the same time but now that victoria is gonna play a bigger part in new moon than we thought it will be really weird when she’s not in eclipse

shane, the book and movie are too different things. like melissa said, everything in the book is from bella’s point of view. they’re just adding more of a way for us to see other points of views with the other essential characters to build up the suspense. and stephenie meyer always looks at the script and approves it, so it’ll be something that stephenie approves of which is like its from the book in a way. dont worry, im pretty positive they’re sticking as close to the book as possible. i mean look at what we’ve seen so far for new moon

This sounds like an awesome scene. I’m going to miss Rachelle so bad in Eclipse. I wish I would be able to enjoy Victoria in the third movie, but I know I won’t be able to.

this isnt sticking to the book. i didnt like how mellissa changed twilight. dont get me wrong, i like the movie..when i think of it as seperate from twilight. because it is not the book. but i still have hope that new moon will be:/ but idk i think mellissa likes adding her own stuff:/. sorry to be a complainer. i wish they would bring rachelle back.

For the couple of people who are kinda complaining that this was not in the book. Yes that is true but a movie cant be from just one persons POV like a book can. Books are internal and movies are visual. I always wanted to know what Victoria could be up to anyways. In Nm we hear about the wolves chasing Victoria off and them killing Laurent but we never get the details. If the movie was just from Bella’s POV we wouldn’t get to see that and I for one want to see that. I think its important. I would much rather see it in the movie than hear Jacob talk about it. It makes it more exciting and enjoyable. And like someone said SM approves the scripts and gets to have input on alot of the filming process it will be great don’t worry.

Though that scene was not included in the book, i knew what that scene was and i can tell you its definitely important transition from new moon to eclipse. Remember the last scene of Victoria in Twilight, its just like that.

an let this happen!!! look it when they were going to replace taylor and we the fans stood up and look what happened!! The new girl could have a part in breaking dawn in the irish coven in BD, That would be a good settlement dont you think? after all rachelle will always be victoria to me and it is so heartbreaking because Eclispe is my fav book. Keep letting our voices be heard!!

Yes, Melissa did quite ruin the twilight screenplay..But we must remember that she wrote the script of twilight not knowing that it would be a big hit, before she knew that there were a devoted fanbase. Now she definitely have a clue to what the fans can do, I presume she would know better what to do and what not to do with the script.

Man, I can’t wait to see that part! I’m pretty neutral about the switch now–I hate Summit’s response to Rachelle, but I do like Ron Howard, therefore I have respect for his daughter (Bryce), but… I’m definitely gonna miss Rachelle.

Aimee, basically what she said was that since the books are written in Bella’s point-of-view, Bella wouldn’t know what Victoria was doing. But in writing, Stephenie knew. So Melissa drew from that and there’s a scene where Victoria’s driving crazyfast in a car with a snack or two in the back… EEP i can’t wait.

To Rose: That thing with Taylor was a totally different story cuz he wanted to stay and didn’t have other projects to work on while they were filming NM. Rachelle is replaced cuz she has a project going on on the same time Eclipse will be filmed, but thousands of miles away.
I think the described scene sounds very cool, looking forward to it. ^^

I don’t want more “depth” added – just stick to the story and move on. I really wish they would get rid of Melissa Rosenberg already. She already blew Twilight why cant they STICK TO THE BOOKS!!!!! The timeline from this site should have been used if she was having issues. Not sure why Stephenie keeps letting them do these things to her books. For goodness sakes Victoria was not even in New Moon and why would she be driving a car???

okay so far im really hating melissa cas she messed up twilight twisted it really in to an action movie and its not her messing with new moon will piss me off too i dont know y she does this her job should be easy the screen play should be the book exactly as it goes te meadow seen is destroyed for the movie new moon becas of her little things lik that effect everything nobody jacked up HARRY POTTER and they hav tons of fans whos ther sreen writer

It’s still unclear to me whether Summit gave Rachelle a chance to get out of the other movie or just thought it a good excuse to get a higher profile actress.
Nothing is ever a done deal in Hollywood until they are on the set filming so anything can happen.

@christina i posted the link..and uh a lady found the script along with another movie script in a trash can outside of a hotel Anna kenndrik was staying. she made a copy of it then returned it to summit but summit didnt know she made a copy so they rewarded her with alot of twilight merchandise
