New Moon Trailer: What’s Missing?
MTV’s Larry Carrol has an article that talks about what factors are missing from the new Meet Jacob Black trailer.
The Vanishing Volturi — As any good Twilighter knows, the Volturi feature prominently not only in “New Moon,” but also in the overall arc of the “Twilight” saga. So, why have they become the J.D. Salinger of the film series? We want full-on, official shots of Aro, Caius, Marcus and the rest. No more slowing down video clips to see if that’s Michael Sheen in the background — it’s time to bring out the big guns.
Quil Be Seeing You — Everybody’s got their own favorite quasi-obscure “Twilight” character, and mine is Jacob’s “wingman” Quil Ateara. We know he’s played by Tyson Houseman in the film, but we haven’t seen so much as a publicity shot yet. Sure, some might laugh — but I’ll be wearing a “Team Quil” shirt when I see the film on opening night. Which reminds me of a second complaint: Why has no one invented “Team Quil” T-shirts yet?
The Cliff Dive — Kristen Stewart told us long ago that Bella’s pivotal cinematic near-suicide will be CGI, and we’ve got to admit: We’re still a bit concerned. Fan-made videos like this one give us an idea of some things to expect from what could be the most powerful moment in “New Moon,” but so far, nothing official. Come on, Chris Weitz — cough it up!

I don’t like how on one of the pictures it says..
“Bella has trouble accepting that Edward left her”
I mean of course she was in the deepest depression possible, but she never thought that Edward could love her like she loved him. She kept saying it didn’t make sense for him to love her. So actually she understood that he left, she was wrong, but in her mind it made sense that he left her.

hah I agree WE WANT IT ALL NOW! but if you think about it there is still 93 days left till the movie! (ahh too long) I’d rather they give us more sporadically through out these next few months, then give it all right now. Because I don’t think I could wait 93 days if they showed us everything we want now, and nothing in the next months. Just my opinion :]

I agree MaryAlice. I first saw the trailer on the 14th and have watched the trailer a signifigant amount of times (that is really an understatement) but every time I see it, I get the same rush (again, understatement) by watching it as I did the first time. Especially because it is in EXTREME high quality now

Ill tell u whats missing. His first name is Edward and his last name is Cullen! Haha. Enough Jacob. I want more of Eddie. I want see his after Italy, in Italy, thats the major climax after all. And I want to see more of the cullens. Not even one climps of alice or carlisle were in this trailer

it loook sooo much different in HD, that [for the second time] i felt like crying, it amazing!!
i mean, being team jacob might have helped with the state i was in while watching it.

As much as I love Edward and the Cullens, I don’t think we need more of them. New Moon is mostly about Jacob and Bella’s developing relationship and the wolves. We will see the vampires where we need to see them according to the book. As much as it does stink a little since we all LOVE the Cullens, I’d rather stay true to the book.
*But then again I mostly feel like this since Im totally a Jacob/wolf girl <3 :]

Um..maybe they want the cliff diving and the Volturi underwraps so it doesn’t spoil the movie. I know I don’t wanna see it. And I enjoy the almost always shirtless Jake. ;D

well they sorta did show the cliff diving scene.. just not the diving part lol. they show her in the water =D
yea I think it would make it more intense if they showed her jumping off in the trailer.. sorta like suspense of whats gonna happen to her (although we already know lol)
