Chaske Spencer: Setting the Record Straight
Chaske Spencer addressed the online rumors via a statement on his official website:
To all the wonderful, incredibly loyal fans:
For those of you that read that I was in rehab, I wanted to make sure you heard the truth from me directly. Yes it is true, that I was in rehab, however it was over 19 months ago, long before NEW MOON was even on my radar. It was a pivotal time in my life where I was lucky enough to have supportive friends and family to help me get healthy. I am grateful that I have been clean and sober now for 19 months and cannot imagine my life if I had continued using drugs and alcohol. Almost everything else that was written about this is blatantly false and we are exploring our legal options. That was my past, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to create a new future for myself. I encourage anyone who is in a similar place to seek support from their friends and family and know that without them, I would not have had the chance to be where I am now.
I want to thank all of you for the support you have shown, and continue to show. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Wow. How brave of him to admit that he was an addict and its commendable the way he turned his life around. Good for him, and I hope he continues on this great path. And shame on the horrid person who chose to disclose such private information.

My aunt was telling me about this earlier saying he was in rehab right now and started talking crap..i knew there had to be another story, im glad he set the record straight and i am very happy for him that he had the courage to get help when he needed it! we support u Chaske! <3

This makes me love him even more. To have the courage to tell everyone about this is amazing. And to have the strength to go to rehab, to know what he was doing was wrong and that he wanted to change makes him an amazing person. We love you Chaske, and we all support you, 100 percent.

I had not seen or heard any of the gossip, and I feel horrible for him that such private information was made public…*sighs* I feel bad that he felt compelled to have to explain past history. It is no one’s business. It speaks to how appreciative he is of his fan base, and cares that he did it. But, even so, it’s deeply private, and I am sure he did not want it to be public knowledge.
I really hate it for him. You couldn’t pay me enough to be in the public eye anymore. Friggin nightmare.

I am so proud of Chaske for what he has overcome…alcohol and drugs are very bad demons and Im proud that he has got over them. Some people I know still go through their life with alcohol but all we could do is support them…we cant stop it for them. Well done Chaske! xx
