I’m still torn about the two movies thing….. what do you guys think. I dunno peeps I’m leaning towards just one…?
December 14th, 2009 at 8:56 PM
I’m still trying to think of how they would break the last book into two movies I mean its kinda hard to imaging I mean I love cliffhangers and all but that’s the one book you kinda don’t want to do it with, I have no idea how they are going to do Jacobs book
December 14th, 2009 at 8:59 PM
i really dont want two movie im like anti-2 movies breaking dawn i hate the idea even though after breaking dawn there is no more its just i would hate for them to do that ugh??
December 14th, 2009 at 8:59 PM
yeah kristi I just feel like there’s plenty we can cut from BD you know? I enjoyed the book, but for a movie pace i think we can stick with one and take things out maybe? Sorry I know this is lame of me but I don’t think I’ve ever commented first on something. Considering I have finals this week this is probably the best thing that will happen to me this week hahaha.

I think it’s a great idea to turn Breaking Dawn into 2 movies. The book ties up loose ends, and brings everything together. It has so much details, and with Jake’s POV as well. I think it would be the better option at this point.
December 14th, 2009 at 9:02 PM
I’d love to see it in two parts. A perfect place to break it up would be during the birth scene - Rosalie losing control, Renesmee in the flesh, Edward trying to save Bella… and even Jacob imprinting Renesmee. What a perfect cliffhanger!
December 14th, 2009 at 9:04 PM
I agree with you Brittany! That would be the perfect place to split the movie. Great thinking!
December 14th, 2009 at 9:04 PM
BD is a LONG book. There is no way they can fit a 700+ paged novel into a 2-2.5hr movie without feeling rushed through it! I’m mean they would cut out a lot and the events are very important. It’s the last book and the best thing they could do is make it into 2 movies. The more the merrier right?!
December 14th, 2009 at 9:11 PM
well i see everyone’s point of view. i just hope the director of BD knows how to make it visually exciting enough so non twilight fan movie goers can enjoy it as much as we will =)
December 14th, 2009 at 9:32 PM
POV of a film student: I think two movies is perfect. 1) that’s what Stephenie Meyer wants. 2) Breaking Dawn is essentially two plots: Renesmee’s birth and Renesmee’s life (ok, much more complicated than that but still). The ending to part one would be a cliffhanger.
December 14th, 2009 at 9:34 PM
I think that they should just make a 3 hour movie for the third one, because while Stephanie goes into excruciating detail, in a film they could simply make a montage of sorts. I’m not the biggest BD fan, but there are some scenes I want to see made into a film, but I am sick of paying $10 to see a movie. I love Twilight, but honestly, I think that taking at least $40 from every fan is plenty. Not to mention the $30 a piece for the film when it comes out. Just one movie, please?
December 14th, 2009 at 9:35 PM
(Since I ran outta room) Check this out: end it with Edward doing CPR, cut to black. a heartbeat gets louder and faster… then “to be continued.” It could work. I’ll direct it!! lol jk. I’m only a freshman in film school.
December 14th, 2009 at 9:51 PM
I agree with some above. There’s a lot of Breaking Dawn you could cut out and it and it won’t make a diffrence. For jacobs point of view is kinda of part of it. I mean there’s a lot you could cut out. And for a movie it won’t be his point of view because most of the jacobs scenes are with bella and edward so it won’t be all about him.
Its so hard to explain.
But im sideing with one movie. I don’t think I could handle waiting for the secound half of the movie.

I do like the idea of splitting BD into two movies. I agree with breaking it at the birth scene as well. My concern is how they are going to keep the film PG13. Being an older fan I am all for “R” ratings but I’m curious how they can keep some of the content from teetering over to “R” What are your thoughts?
December 14th, 2009 at 10:10 PM
I really don’t care what happens as long as the end sequence(the Volturi fight) is better than the book.
December 14th, 2009 at 10:24 PM
i would really like to see BD as twoo films but like where would they split it. i mean thers not alot of action in the begginig and most of the major events apart from the wedding happen in the end of jacobs book and bellas second book. i just dont really no what to think about this whole thing
December 14th, 2009 at 10:28 PM
I guess we will just have to wait and see what their decision will be! No matter what course of action the writer takes, I am sure it will be pleasing to the fans!
December 14th, 2009 at 10:32 PM
I’m all for it being broken up into 2 movies! You start cutting things out to cram it all into one movie, then how will they choose what to cut and what to leave in? You know then important scenes will be left out and there will be more unhappy fans then happy ones!!
December 14th, 2009 at 10:46 PM
I’m agree with the 2 movies even though I’m anti 2 movies but I’d really love the idea besides we get to see more of Rob Taylor and Kristen and because of the fact that is the last book/movie it makes it even better. So I’m really happy.
December 14th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
I’M GETTING A LITTLE SCARED AND A BAD FEELING ABOUT ECLPSE…. NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT IT.
I MEAN, WE JUST SAW NEW MOON, AND THEY’RE ALREADY TALKING ABOUT BREAKING DAWN.
I HONESTLY DON’T KNOW HOW TO FEEL ABOUT THAT.
IS IT WEIRD THAT I’M HAVING A BAD FEELING ABOUT IT?? AM I JUST BEING PARANOID??
December 14th, 2009 at 11:34 PM
AND TO TOP IT ALL, THE CAST WANTS CHRIS WEITZ BACK. DON’T GET ME WRONG, HE DID AN AMAZING JOB, BUT EVERY TIME SOMEBODY ASK THEM ABOUT DAVID SLADE, THEY JUST SAY HE’S DIFERENT.
I MEAN WTF??????
I’M TRYING TO SATY POSITIVE HERE BUT IS HARD!!!
December 14th, 2009 at 11:35 PM
*STAY…
December 14th, 2009 at 11:41 PM
I KNOW I’M RAMBLING BUT I HAVE TO GET THIS QUESTIONS OUT OF MY SYSTEM ¡¡LOL!!
AND WHAT ABOUT THE CAST SAYING THAT ECLIPSE IS PRETTY DARCK… I MEAN WEXLIPSE WAS MY FAVORITE BOOK, AND NOT VECAUSE OF THE WAR, BUT BECAUSE OF THE LOVE TRIANGLE, THEY SHOULF FOCUS ON THAT!!!
I DON’T WHANT THE HOLE MOVIE TO BE ABOUT VAMPIRES FIGHTING.
AND DON’T GET ME STARTED WITH THE STILLS, I MEAN COME ON!!! BELLA LOOK SOOOO OLD AND THE WIG LOOKS TOO FAKE!!!
THE ONLY POSITIVE THING IS THAT EDWARD LOOK HOTTER THAN EVER!
OK, I THINK THATS IT. SORRY AGAIN FOR THE RAMBLING BUT I’M JUST A VERY PISSED FAN RIGHT KNOW LOL!!
December 15th, 2009 at 12:03 AM
hahaha i love how people go straight for the movie discussion lol
Carlisle playing golf is just brilliant!
December 15th, 2009 at 2:48 AM
PlEASE NO 2-MOVIES AND NO WEITZ! BD can cut Jacob POV and deal in montages, as suggested above. NM was ok and still waiting to see Eclipse…Slade might be the right director for BD. Although I would prefer to see Robert DeNiro or Martin Scorsese direct BD (I know, not their kind of movie)…a gal can hope can’t I!
December 15th, 2009 at 4:33 AM
I think that it’s a good idea to split it because it’s really long and there are too many things that they can’t drop out and it wouldn’t all fit into one movie (with a decend lenght anyway) so I think that spliting it is a good idea. If they want to end it in a cliffhanger then they should end on the end of Jacob’s book, but if they want a non-cliffhanger ending they can end it after Bella and Emmett arm-wrestle cause after that there is a three month skip before the Volturi thing starts. But no matter what they do, I hope they do it right and soon. Also, I am totally for Chris Weitz directing it. He did an amazing job on New Moon and everyone from the cast says they would love to work with him again. Go Chris Weitz!!!
December 15th, 2009 at 6:36 AM
So it is for sure now, that they gonna make BD? Thats positive … one or two movies? I don’t know … I think the book is to long for a 2 hour movie, but too short for 4hours … so maybe just one movie, about 3 hours … I don’t think that is too long for one movie at all!
I’m wondering who is going to do it? Weitz maybe? I liked NM very much, but friends of mine who didn’t read the books had the feeling it was rushed, and not always explained enough. I can’t tell, because I know the background
We will see … waiting
December 15th, 2009 at 6:37 AM
I think whatever they decide to do is fine. As long as they tie up the story! Dont forget about all of those Lord of the Rings movies..they were very violent and still only pg-13..so I think it can be done!!
December 15th, 2009 at 8:47 AM
JustMe01:
I agree with you completely. I’ve had a scary feeling about Eclipse ever since they announced that David Slade was directing it. Whenever a cast member is asked about Eclipse, they say that it’s all about the action and it’s going to be “darker”. THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO FOCUS ON THE LOVE TRIANGLE. Twilight isn’t this popular because of the action and vampires, it’s popular because of the forbidden love. Ugh. I don’t know, I’m just saying that I’m anxious to see how Eclipse turns out…
December 15th, 2009 at 11:09 AM
I think it is normal that the actors are not speaking about David Slade at the moment. New Moon just came out, so erverything is about Chris Weitz now and how he made the movie … I guess, in a couple of months, when Eclipse is geting closer, we will hear more about director Slade. But I think he will not give us as much material as Weitz did.
I’m not sure about David Slade for Eclipse, but the book is darker. Because of the ficht scenes, yes, but also because of the love triangle. That is getting pushed to the edge, so in a way, that is dark too. And I think Slade will understand or be told, that the Twilight fans are not regular Vampire fans … so I think he will focus on the triangle as well … I have faith… hope I’m right … But speculating won’t change a thing … so I guess we just have to wait some more months :p
December 15th, 2009 at 11:48 AM
I am so for BD being 2 movies. I don’t like cliff hangers, but if they only do one movie, it will be too short and A LOT of good stuff will be left out. The first movie should end with Bella’s last heartbeat and the second one should start with her waking up as a vampire!
December 15th, 2009 at 4:36 PM
Whoa! with Breaking Dawn everyone jumps on board lol! Love Peter! He is very optimistic. Team Carlisle!
We are not in a rush to make Breaking Dawn. Chris W. can always do his movie or whatever he has to do then come and direct Breaking Dawn. To be a complete sucess Stephanie must be co-director or screen writer or something. And this time have her playist of songs used. For the person who brought alt this to life she doesnt have much say which is sad.
2 movies! Chris Weitz and of story!
December 15th, 2009 at 4:37 PM
Oops I mean 2 movies! Chris Weitz..End of Story!!
December 16th, 2009 at 3:44 PM
CW and one movie for me
December 19th, 2009 at 7:42 PM
Okay, no flames please, but I think turning Breaking Dawn into 2 movies is a dumb idea if not an impossible one. Sure, it’s a thick book, so what? It was full of useless crap that can’t EVER be portrayed into a film. Jacob walks around the house for like, 400 pages. You can show that on screen in less than 40 seconds, you know? Literally they got married, went on their honeymoon and had sex, had a baby, Bella became a vampire, and then more sex… That’s not enough to be put into two books. Jacob’s inprinting will take less than a minute to convey and the big “fight” if you could even call it that was just a bunch of descriptions for 200 pages… Basically Stephenie Meyer just talked about things a whole lot but really only like, 4 things happened in that book.
