Calgary Herald: New Moon’s Humans Keep It Real
Monday, November 2nd, 2009
If you weren’t playing humans, which would you prefer to play: a vampire or a werewolf?
Anna: I would personally rather be a werewolf since they seem to get to have a lot more fun. The vampires are very cool, but they have to be very calm and collected all the time. The werewolves get to let loose a little bit more.
Michael: I’d much rather play a vampire. Being a vampire would be cool, I think, for the first 100 years or so. It’d be fun to be able to play because vampires are just too cool; they’re just sexy and interesting and complicated.
Everyone always talks about Team Edward and Team Jacob. Don’t you think it’s time to start Team Mike and Team Eric?
Michael: Ya, I do! Actually, I’ve had friends who’ve jokingly made up some Team Mike t-shirts.
Justin: I would love to do that. I think you’d have to campaign. It’s political. I’d need lobbyists and stuff.
The mood for New Moon is pretty bleak for a lot of the film. You guys represent the normal world for Bella, but you also provide a lot of comic relief.
Justin: Bella’s really depressed throughout the movie so we really have to bring light to it, otherwise it’s just too dark the whole time.
Michael: Our job is to add a little humour, add a little levity, and just come across as realistic kids in a small town in Washington.
Anna: And I think that there’s an inherent comedy in our blissful ignorance of everything that Bella is going through in the supernatural world.
Twilight Saga Actress Anna Kendrick Shines in ‘Up in the Air’
Monday, October 19th, 2009Clip from the film:
Kendrick, who plays Bella’s human friend Jessica in the “Twilight” franchise, absolutely shines opposite George Clooney in Jason Reitman’s much buzzed about new dramedy. The 24-year-old actress portrays a young manager who tries to change the way Clooney’s company does business, but can’t seem to win the longtime traveling representative over. In this brand new scene embedded to the left, Kendrick’s character discovers just how lucrative all of Clooney’s traveling can be.
Anna Kendrick: Fame Hasn’t Changed Co-Stars
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009MTV: What’s going on with Jessica in “Eclipse”? Is the role faithful to the character in the book, or are there new scenes that are added that you’re excited about?
Kendrick: The thing about playing one of the human characters — the non-supernatural characters in the “Twilight” series — is we have a lot more liberty to make it our own and change things, because people don’t have that attachment that they do to the myth of the world that Stephenie Meyer has created, in terms of the supernatural aspect. So we’ve never really gotten in trouble for straying a little bit. We’re having fun. I mean, we’re being faithful to the book, but with a few changes. I hope that they’re fun.
MTV: Obviously, people like Rob, Kristen and Taylor have exploded since last year’s film. Has all that added attention, the paparazzi and whatnot, made it difficult to shoot the sequels?
Kendrick: Thank God people exist that know how to handle that. Because the production has managed to keep out a lot of onlookers, but it’s still [problematic]. You know that [the fans are] there, and I think that kinda does affect the way that you feel [while trying to act]. But it’s just one of those things you have to get over. I mean, if there are a ton of background actors in a scene, it’s the same thing. You just have to tune it out.
MTV: Have you seen a big change in Rob and Kristen since they’ve become famous, or are they the same?
Kendrick: No, of course they’re the same. Yeah, of course. They’re so levelheaded. They’ve handled it so, so gracefully. I really don’t know [how I would've handled it]. I would have gone insane at this point! But they manage to be handling it in stride.

Anna Kendrick Talks RPattz Level of Fame
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009In and interview with MTV, Anna Kendrick talks about being happy with not having the same level of fame as RPattz and KStew.
“I would have gone insane at this point!” she told MTV News while promoting the George Clooney comedy “Up in the Air” at the Toronto International Film Festival. “They’re so levelheaded. They’ve handled it so gracefully.”
With “New Moon” set for a November release and “Eclipse” currently filming in Vancouver, the entire cast has had to contend with the increased media attention. “Thank God that people exist who know how to handle that,” Kendrick said, speaking about the “Eclipse” shoot. “The production has managed to keep out a lot of onlookers. You know that they’re there. That kind of does affect the way you feel, but it’s one of those things — you just get over it. If there are a ton of background actors in scenes, it’s the same thing. You just have to tune it out.”
