SM Update: Congrats to Creators of the Twilight Soundtrack!

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

The Twilight soundtrack has been nominated for a grammy, and Stephenie has updated her site with congrats! =] The soundtrack is in the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media category.

A big congratulations to everyone involved with creating the awesome Twilight Original Motion Picture Soundtrack! The Grammy nomination is fantastic and also well-deserved. It is an honor to have such talented artists and bands contributing to the Twilight film. Congrats also to Alex Patsavas for doing such an inspired job of bringing them all together.

Thanks,

Stephenie

Paramore’s Decode was also nominated in the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media category!

Muse To Perform At VMAs

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

MTV as well as the official Twilight Soundtrack site have announced that Muse will be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13th (which is also, ironically, Bella’s birthday)!

Twilight fans will be pleased to learn that MTV have announced Muse will be performing at the 2009 Video Music Awards! As you may already be aware, the British rock outfit are Stephenie Meyer’s favorite band and she thanked them for their inspiration and called them “rock gods” in New Moon and Eclipse, and then decided to dedicate Eclipse to the band for providing “a saga’s worth of inspiration.” Muse’s single, ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ also appeared on the soundtrack for Twilight and was featured during the film in the baseball scene.

How was your band chosen to be on the Twilight soundtrack?
The reason for why the song was chosen to be on the Twilight soundtrack was (because of) my partners from Zync Music who played the music for Catherine Hardwicke; she really fell in love with the song “Eyes on Fire”. Has your popularity increased since being affiliated with the Twilight name?
Yes! Very much. I love it. More people listen to my music now. They discover what Blue Foundation really is about - the soundtrack of your life!

Has it been a benefit or a curse?
Of course more people now about my music because of Twilight so that’s good. I didn’t do the movie- I just wrote this song with Kirstine, and it ended up in a blockbuster (film). It’s that simple. I will continue doing what I do. Compose music and write song because I have to. That’s what I do…
