Taylor Lautner has been lining up a lot of work lately, landing the lead roles in the big-screen adaptation of the TV show “Max Steel” and the effort to bring the action figure Stretch Armstrong to the big screen. Now he’s ready to go missing. Lionsgate has bought the script for the thriller “Abduction” and cast the “Twilight” star as a young man who sees his baby picture on a missing persons Web site.

Lionsgate picked up the project after a week-long bidding war for Shawn Christensen’s spec script. Variety reports that the studio paid a sum in the “high six figures” for the script, which the studio will co-produce with Gotham Group, Vertigo Entertainment and Lautner’s production company Tailor Made.

Christensen has also written a film called “Sidney Hall” with Jason Dolan. That one is currently in the hands of “You, Me And Dupree” director Joe Russo and is slated for a 2010 release.

Lautner returns to theaters on June 30, when he reprises his role as Jacob in “Eclipse,” the third entry in the “Twilight” series. There is currently no official word from Summit Entertainment on the status of “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth and final “Twilight” chapter, but it is widely believed that the lengthy story will be broken into two films.

Robert Pattinson presented at last year’s Oscars, but guess which Twilight stars are doing it this time around? I’ll let Kristen Stewart tell you. “Yeah, I’m going,” Stewart just told me when I asked if we’d be seeing her on March 7 at the Academy Awards. “Me and Taylor are going to present.” Stewart admits she’s very nervous. “I’ve been looking at shoes,” she said. “I’m trying to pick shoes that I know I won’t fall down in.” I chatted with Stewart at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, where she’d been holed for most of the day promoting her new drama, The Yellow Handkerchief, with costars Eddie Redmyane, Maria Bello and William Hurt. In a couple of days, she’ll be in London for BAFTA’s Orange Awards, where she’s a Rising Star nominee. “I feel so funny about it,” Stewart says. “Really cool people have won and really cool people are up for it this year. And I know a few of them, like Jesse [Eisenberg] and Carey [Mulligan].”

The Official Twilight Facebook Fan Page has just reached an incredible milestone: garnering its five millionth member. Few Facebook pages in the world have accumulated as many fans as this, and administrators Lauren Suero and Heidi Bennett have watched the page grow from its infant stage of just a few thousand. “I started working on the Twilight Facebook page in April of 2008,” said Lauren Suero, one of two women responsible for administrating what is now the official Facebook go-to fan page for the Twilight series film franchise. “We were at 18,000 people. It was a very small and intimate page.” Heidi Bennett, the partner administrator for the page, joined hands with Suero back in August of 2008, shortly after “about a week after I read the Saga. When I joined the page there were 20,000 fans.” Since Twilight hit theaters in November of 2008, though, the page’s membership has steadily ballooned, and by the time The Twilight Saga: New Moon hit theaters in November, 2009, they had over four million.
