Sofia Coppola, Gus Van Sant, or Bill Condon for Breaking Dawn?

Just in from Entertainment Weekly:

Yes, it’s still early days, but Summit is trying to up its pedigree for its big-screen adaptation of the final installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. Sources tell EW that the studio has reached out to at least three top-notch directors, including Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) to gauge their interest in what is likely to be two movies. (Van Sant’s reps confirmed that he’s been approached, but Coppola and Condon’s people didn’t return phone calls by press time. Summit declined to comment.)

No decisions are likely to be made until the studio delivers screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s detailed outline to the directors. That should happen sometime next week. Until then we can just wonder how these three very diverse directors will approach Bella’s controversial birthing scene.

You can check out the full story HERE at EW.

What do you guys think? Any specific personal choices?

Kristen Stewart to co-star in “Backwoods” with Julianne Moore?

“Twilight” star Kristen Stewart–so good as Joan Jett in “The Runaways” and in “Welcome to the Rileys”– has her next project lined up. Stewart will co-star with Julianne Moore in “Backwoods.” Sources say the film, directed by Moore’s husband, Bart Freundlich, concerns the end of the world. “Backwoods,” still to be fully cast, should start sometime this summer. By then, Stewart will be starring in “Twilight:Eclipse.” Freundlich has three features under his belt including a gem called “The Myth of Fingerprints.” He also recently directed four episodes of “Californication” for Showtime. Moore, who was denied an Oscar nomination for her wonderful work in “A Single Man,” opens shortly in Atom Egoyan’s “Chloe,” with Liam Neeson and Amanda Seyfried.

We’re not sure if this is 100% true yet, due to the iffy original source, but we’ll keep you posted!

Robert Pattinson Discusses Remember Me’s Twist Ending

CAUTION: Major spoilers if you have NOT seen the film yet!

Movie Trailers - Movies Blog

“When I first read the script, it seemed so much a part of it,” Rob said. “As soon as I read it, I felt immediately connected to it. If it was edited down in any way, I don’t think it would be the same thing. I always feel there’s some kind of power to the script. I wanted to keep that in the movie.”

Costar Emilie agreed. “For me, it was handled so beautifully, but it was also just such a surprise to me the first time I read it. I think I’ve cried every time I read this script and seen this film,” she said. But it’s such an important part of history and I think everyone’s going to have a completely different opinion because everyone has a different experience, whether they were involved or know somebody involved. Everyone remembers exactly where they were when they heard about it.”
